In response to the terrible earthquake affecting Türkiye and Syria we have a collecting box in St. Michael’s and any money raised will go to the Disaster Emergency Committee, an umbrella organisation of 15 charities - including Christian Aid, the Red Cross, Oxfam and Tearfund. £30 could provide a month’s supply of hygiene essentials for a family; £50 could provide clothes and blankets to help a family survive the cold; £125 could provide a month of food to keep a family strong and healthy. Please give as generously as you can. Following Liz’s sermon last week, this is just one practical way we can be the salt and light of the world. Thank you! And there will be a concert of light classics at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 18th, in St. Margaret’s, Roath, with monies going to the earthquake appeal.

It was such a joy on November 19th to welcome Santa to St. Michael's Christmas Fayre on his stopover on the way to the North Pole. He made time in his busy schedule to speak to over 40 young people and the young at heart. Santa was particularly grateful to M.Bow's Construction Company for his temporary shelter for the day.
The Fayre was well-attended and, as well as raising much-needed funds for the church, it was a chance for our community to re-gather after an absence of nearly 3 years because of the Covid pandemic. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces.

Thanks to all who prepared, cooked, baked, served our luncheon food, and to those who did the washing up. And many thanks to all who manned stalls, who sang carols, and to all our visitors. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
